Softball: La Cañada Shuts Out Mary Star of the Sea 7-0
The Spartans next play Nipomo in the semifinals at home on Tuesday.
shut out Mary Star of the Sea, 7-0, in the quarterfinals of
the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs on Thursday.
Spartans starter Lauren Cox struck out 20 of the 25 batters she faced. She pitched a
one-hitter, walked three and hit one batter. Selina Mohr was 3-for-4 and scored three runs for La Canada. Jessica Ogden drove in two runs with a double in the first inning.
La Canada plays Nipomo in the semifinals at La Cañada on Tuesday.
