Thieves Snatch Hundreds in Coins from Gas Station

The proximity to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department didn't thwart thieves early Tuesday morning, as unidentified suspects smashed a window at the gas station and stole hundreds of dollars, authorities said.

The thieves smashed a window at the gas station, at Foothill Boulevard and Briggs Avenue, at about 2:30 am, said Sgt. Ray Harley. The unidentified individuals broke into the station office and stole a few hundred dollars in rolled coins, he said.
