Thirsty Bobcat Drinks from Backyard Water Fountain in La Cañada Flintridge

It's not unheard of for bobcats to be seen in the middle of the day, though it is rare. This cat must have been really thirsty.

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — It's been crazy hot out there in the Southland this week. So hot that a bobcat was seen taking a drink from a water fountain in La Cañada Flintridge.

Resident Mark Hunter took the photo from his backyard Tuesday morning and sent it to his son. The son then posted the photo on the image-sharing website, Imgur. Bobcats are generally not known to show up during daylight hours. Just like your average house cats, bobcats are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dawn and dusk because that is when their preys are most active.
