To Drink or Not to Drink?

With prom and other spring socials looming, the question about hosting responsibility abounds.

The dress, the tux, the corsage, the limo...and the 12-pack?

Spring brings a variety of dances, notably prom, and occasions for parents to host parties for their children and their children's friends. Such occasions may be rife with underage drinking. Community concern for La Cañada youth drinking alcohol reached the city's Public Safety Commission, which, together with the Youth Council, will host a "How to Survive Teen Parties'' forum at on April 27.

Residents have asked the city to initiate a social host ordinance, which would hold parents accountable if alcohol is served to minors.
