It's a tie this week for the cheapest gas in town: $4.29 at both , 2384 Foothill Blvd. and 1540 Foothill Blvd., according to gasbuddy.com, a website that lists the best prices for gas in California. Just plug in the zipcode of the area you want to know about and it shows you which station is offering the lowest per-pallon cost.
The third best price in La Cañada is $4.33 a gallon for regular unleaded at , 623 Foothill Blvd.

According to AAA's daily fuel gauge report, the national average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.96, while California's average is $4.26. Nationally, the highest recorded average price was $4.11 in 2008, the website states.
