30 MPH Winds In Dana Point And Laguna Niguel, Wind Advisory In OC

Dana Point and Laguna Niguel residents can expect strong winds throughout Thursday evening and into Friday night.

DANA POINT, CA — Dana Point and Laguna Niguel residents can expect the return of gusty Santa Ana Winds after the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Orange County Thursday.

Northeast winds ranging from 15 to 30 miles per hour are expected, with Dana Point and Laguna Niguel experiencing possible wind gusts of up to 55 miles per hour.

The wind advisory starts at 7 p.m. Thursday and will remain in place until 10 p.m. Friday. The wind advisory affects the San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys, the Inland Empire, the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, the San Bernardino County Mountains and Orange County inland areas, among other places.

Residents should be prepared for damaging winds blowing over trees and power lines and should take down any outdoor items that could blow away.

"Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," the service reported. "Use caution if you must drive."
