Big Rig Crash Injures 1 On 5 Freeway, Stalls Traffic In South OC

The crash was reported at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday morning and involved a big rig and two other vehicles, authorities said.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA — At least one person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 freeway Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday morning on the northbound side of the freeway near Avenida Presidio in San Clemente, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash involved a Toyota van, white Lexus and semi truck, officers said. At least one person was injured in the crash, which scattered debris over several lanes of the freeway and slowed northbound traffic for miles.

In addition, the crash resulted in roughly 30-gallons of oil being spilled on the lanes of the freeway, according to the CHP.

An electrical box was also hit as a result of the crash, authorities said.
