LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — The Laguna Niguel City Council is poised to make several budget adjustments for the 2021-22 fiscal year during its Tuesday meeting.

The adjustments are necessary to tweak any numbers that have varied since city officials adopted the current budget in June 2021, according to a city staff report. The adopted budget saw $45.4 million in revenue for the city's General Fund, $44.3 million in expenditures and $1.1 million in surplus funds.

"Overall, the [fiscal year 2021-22] revenues and expenditures are tracking as projected," the staff report said. "However, a few adjustments are being recommended, as property tax revenues are trending higher and planning revenues and expenditures need to be modified to account for increased development activity."
