Man And Woman Found Dead On Dana Point Beach Identified

DANA POINT, CA — Authorities have identified the man and woman found dead on a Dana Point beach Friday morning.

Ping He, 49, of Arcadia, and Guiyun Yi, 78, of West Covina, were found unresponsive sometime before 7 a.m. on Salt Creek Beach near the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel hotel, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said. The department did not say how He and Yi knew each other.

Authorities are still waiting for test results from the coroner's office to determine how He and Yi died, according to Sgt. Todd Hylton, a public information officer with the sheriff's department.

The deaths appear to be an isolated incident, and foul play is not suspected, the department tweeted at the time.
