New Coffee Shop, Other Big Changes At Dana Point Harbor Amid Project

As the project enters the start of its third phase of construction, four tenants have found new homes at Dana Wharf.

DANA POINT, CA — Four Dana Point businesses located in Dana Point Harbor have officially found a new home at The Wharf, Dana Point Harbor Partners announced Monday.

According to DPHP, Frisby Cellars will be relocating to the first floor of the former Waterman's location, overlooking the harbor within the wharf plaza.

The relocation will come with an expansion, as Frisby Cellars plans to offer craft-brewed beers on tap alongside a well-established wine offering, with a private event venue available for private tastings and special celebrations.

"We are thrilled about the relocation of Frisby Cellars to the former Waterman's location," Owner and winemaker Josh Frisby said. "The location will provide a larger outdoor patio with waterside views for our current wine club members and harbor guests."

In the former Frisby Cellars space, owner Mark Hanson's long-standing harbor staples Art Sea and Gift Chateau will relocate from Mariner's Village, bringing its coastal art pieces and marine-inspired children's favorites to the new location.

In addition, Vintage Yacht Club will relocate from Mariner's Village to the former Harbor Deli space adjacent to Jon's Fish Market.

The new location opening this summer will mark just over a year and a half in the harbor for owner Eric Sawall’s highly curated vintage wares, nostalgic nautical finds and lifestyle apparel.

"We celebrated our one-year anniversary this past December and have been overwhelmed by the local support. For those that don’t know us, we’re a blend of old and new products, art and statement pieces for the home and closet with a waterman’s spirit," said Vintage Yacht Club owner Eric Sawall. "The harbor truly feels like home, and my sister and I have been eager to keep our growing business right here."

Lastly, locals will find a new caffeine fix at Coco Bloom Coffee. The concept, by San Clemente local Chloe Wilhite, will take over the former Lil Skipper space featuring signature espresso-based and seasonal beverages, pastries and gelato.

"As a young entrepreneur who got her start in events, I am overjoyed to become a part of the local harbor lineup year-round and see my dream come to life in a physical storefront. I believe coffee is a way to connect, and we aim to do that with each and every customer," said Chloe Wilhite owner of Coco Bloom Coffee.
