Padres to Honor Firefights, Law Enforcement Who Battled Recent Wildfires at Saturday's Game
Representatives of about 20 agencies are expected to participate in a pre-game ceremony
Firefighters and law enforcement officers who battled the siege of wildfires around San Diego County last week will be honored before the Saturday, May 24 Padres game, the team announced Friday.
Representatives of about 20 agencies are expected to participate in a pre-game ceremony, which will take place before the 7:10 p.m. contest against the Chicago Cubs at Petco Park.
The Padres said the pregame ceremony will include on-field recognition, a video tribute and a flyover by San Diego Fire-Rescue, San Diego Sheriff and Cal Fire aircraft.

Throughout the game, video messages of appreciation from players and coaches will be shown, and Padres players will wear caps from regional public safety agencies during batting practice.
Around 1,000 first-responders and their family members are expected to attend the game, thanks to contributions from Golden State Graphics and Mission Federal Credit Union, according to the Padres.
