The chase started in San Bernardino County.

A man who allegedly tried to run down a police officer with a stolen big rig led authorities on a road chase in the vehicle from San Bernardino County to the San Diego area, where he finally pulled over at a gas station near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and was arrested.

The pursuit began in Ontario in the early afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The suspect led officers through Riverside County and into the San Diego region, where he passed through Fallbrook, Bonsall, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos and Mira Mesa before exiting onto Miramar Road at about 2:40 p.m., the CHP reported.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, was treated at the scene for bite wounds.
