UC San Diego To Install Plan B Vending Machine
It's the third campus in the University of California to have the machine.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- UC San Diego will soon have a vending machine offering Plan B, a contraceptive aimed at preventing an unwanted pregnancy. Triton News, the university's newspaper, reported the University Centers Advisory Board approved installing the vending machine last week.
Aside from Plan B, the machine will also offer Advil, pregnancy tests and condoms, Triton News reported.
The approval of the vending machine "will make UC San Diego the third University of California to sell the morning after pill through a vending machine after UC Davis installed one last March and UC Santa Barbara in 2015," the campus newspaper said.

The student body is also working on determining "which products are accessed the most and what would be needed" for the vending machine, Triton News reported.
The approval of the campus vending machine comes after a California lawmaker introduced a bill requesting public universities offer abortion pills.

Senate Bill 320, authored by Sen. Connie Leyva (D-Chino), will ensure access to medication abortion services on California public university campuses for students who may become pregnant and seek to terminate their pregnancy during the first ten weeks.
