1 Dead In Perris Head On Collision
A 49-year-old man from Nuevo crashed into another vehicle before veering off State Route 74, the CHP said.

PERRIS, CA — One man died and two vehicles were severely damaged on Tuesday night in a head-on collision reported on State Route 74 in Perris, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At 6:40 p.m., a 2010 Lexus IS250 was traveling eastbound on the highway when it veered to the left, crossing over a raised concrete divider onto the westbound lanes and crashing into the front of a 2024 Chevrolet Express van, according to Temecula-area CHP Captain Chris Hamilton.
After crashing into the Chevrolet, the Lexus continued off the road until it collided with a chain link fence north of SR-74, Hamilton said.

Police did not say whether the 23-year-old driver and the 59-year-old passenger of the Chevrolet were injured.
The driver of the Lexus, a 49-year-old from Nuevo, was pronounced dead at the scene, Hamilton said. His identity has not yet been released.

A SIG alert was issued as CHP closed the westbound lanes on the highway for about two and a half hours.
