1 Dead In RivCo Shooting; Suspect At Large

Deputies are investigating a potential homicide after finding a man suffering from a gunshot wound in Perris on Thursday night.

PERRIS, CA — Police are searching for the suspect or suspects responsible for the death of a man who was found unresponsive in Perris on Thursday night, authorities announced.

At 8:49 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff's Station were sent to the intersection of Woodward Street and Elizabeth Street about an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside Sheriff's Department.

Arriving deputies found a man suffering from a possible gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead.

The release of his identity is pending the notification of his family.

Police said Friday that any potential suspect or suspects are unknown.
