7 Injured In Ortega Highway Crash: 5 Ambulances Respond To The Scene
The jaws of life were used to free patients from the wreckage.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A two-vehicle crash at a Lake Elsinore intersection injured seven people, including two minor children, Thursday morning, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
All injured parties were taken to the hospital in multiple ambulances, a department spokesperson, Karina Espinoza, told Patch.
Shortly before 7:30 a.m., two vehicles collided at Highway 74 and Riverside Street.

Five ambulances were dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured adults and at least one pediatric patient. All were taken to a local area hospital, all with moderate injuries, she said.
Reports from the scene show that a white van and a red sedan were involved in the collision.

One lane of traffic was closed for about 45 minutes. Two adults were extricated from the wreckage, according to Espinoza. It was not immediately clear what led to the collision.
