7 Years Later, Lake Elsinore Killing Remains Unsolved
The sheriff's department issued another public plea in the hope that someone has information that will lead to justice.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — It's been seven years since 35-year-old Henry Shannon of Menifee was fatally gunned down in the old Lake Elsinore Walmart parking lot, near Railroad Canyon Road and Grape Street.
Seven years later, his killers have not been found.
On Tuesday, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department issued another public plea in the hope that someone has information that will lead to justice for Shannon and his loved ones.

"As another year has passed, Mr. Shannon’s murder remains unsolved," the law enforcement agency said. "Central Homicide Unit investigators have continued to investigate this case and follow up on all leads. Still, the suspects in this case remain unknown."
Investigators believe Shannon knew the suspects and had planned to meet up with them when the shooting occurred, the sheriff's department said Tuesday.

Around 3:30 p.m. on May 14, 2018, Shannon was shot in the parking lot. Wounded, he drove about one mile before crashing off the side of the road near the intersection of Railroad Canyon and Church roads in Lake Elsinore.
When first responders arrived, they treated Shannon at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital. He died that day from the bullet wounds, according to the sheriff's department.
Last year, on the sixth anniversary of Shannon's death, the sheriff's department released surveillance photos and offered new details about the suspects' vehicle in the hope that someone might recognize it.
"Witnesses during the night of the shooting advised the suspects fled the area in a dark blue four-door Buick sedan (model year 1997-2003)," according to the sheriff's office.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said it will continue to ask for the public’s assistance in the case and urges anyone with information to please reach out. Information can be provided to Central Homicide Unit Investigator Dan Brown at 951-955-2777 or by email.
