18-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Riverside County
The Riverside County coroner's bureau identified the victim over the weekend.
PERRIS, CA — Authorities Sunday identified an 18-year-old pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Mead Valley.
The crash was reported at 6:04 p.m. Saturday in the 21100 block of Nandina Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told the CHP that a gray or silver Honda sedan was speeding at 90 mph when it struck the pedestrian and flipped over, but the state agency said Monday that the 19-year-old driver's speed was unknown and he wasn't under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The Riverside County coroner's office identified her as 18-year-old Rosa Martinez of Moreno Valley.
The driver of the sedan was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
