Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- A brush fire erupted Sunday afternoon near Lake Elsinore. The fire was reported at 2:17 p.m. near Highway 74 and Ethanac Road.

Arriving firefighters found a five-acre vegetation blaze, but by 3 p.m., it grew to 15 acres.

The fire, dubbed the Ethanac Fire, prompted the brief closure of Highway 74 and Spring Street as crews worked to control the blaze. By 4 p.m., all roads were reopened.

A second brush fire erupted near Temecula earlier in the day, just one day after crews tackled a fire in De Luz.
