Crews Make Gains On Sedco Hills Brush Fire

WILDOMAR, CA — A brush fire that erupted Wednesday just east of Wildomar scorched nearly a half-acre before crews got it under control.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:15 p.m. near the intersection of Crab Hollow Circle and Crooked Arrow Drive, in an area known as Sedco Hills, east of Interstate 15, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said several engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving across open space at a moderate rate.

Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines that enabled them to immediately stop the fire's forward rate of spread, according to reports from the scene. As of 1 p.m., crews were mopping up, with the operation slated for completion by mid-afternoon Wednesday.

Crab Hollow was shut down by sheriff's deputies for public safety.
