Eastbound Highway 74 Closed Due To Crash

As of 12:40 p.m., all eastbound lanes were blocked; only one lane was open on the westbound side of the highway.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A vehicle crashed into a utility pole Monday afternoon on eastbound state Route 74, snarling traffic between Lake Elsinore and Perris and prompting a SigAlert.

The collision was reported just before 12:30 p.m., west of Margarth Street, in the incorporated community of Good Hope, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It's not clear whether the utility pole was downed in the crash. Witnesses reported seeing sparks and fire.
