Fire Erupts In Lake Elsinore

The fire was reported at 3:02 p.m. Monday.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA -- A brush fire erupted Monday afternoon in Lake Elsinore. The fire was reported at 3:02 p.m. in the 35000 block of Redberry Palms Court, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Arriving firefighters reported a half-acre blaze burning on light brush, but the fire quickly grew to five acres. By 3:40 p.m., officials said the forward progress of the fire stopped.

Eighty-five firefighters, 16 engines and one helicopter were called to the scene.
