LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A brush fire ignited on Saturday afternoon near Lake Elsinore, prompting evacuations and scorching more than 50 acres, according to Cal Fire officials.

The blaze, dubbed the Crump Fire, was first reported at 12:33 p.m. at Riverside Street and Highway 74 West in the unincorporated area of Meadowbrook and Lake Elsinore, according to Cal Fire.

An evacuation shelter has been established at Pinacate Middle School, located at 1900 S. A St. in Perris. Pets and animals can be taken to the San Jacinto Animal Shelter at 581 S. Grand Ave.
