Lake Elsinore's Climate Action And Adaptation Plan Draft Now Available For Residents To Review
CAAP supports local benefits that enhance quality of life for residents, including cleaner air, improved public health & lower energy costs.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The City of Lake Elsinore has released the public draft of the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) and invites community members to review the document and provide feedback, according to a recent news release.
"The CAAP serves as a long-term roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening the City’s resilience to climate-related impacts," the city spokesperson stated.
The plan outlines strategies to reduce emissions from key sources, including buildings, transportation, and waste, while preparing the community for challenges such as extreme heat, wildfire smoke, and severe weather.

"In addition to addressing climate risks, the CAAP supports local benefits that enhance quality of
life for residents, including cleaner air, improved public health, lower energy costs, expanded
tree canopy, and more walkable neighborhoods—particularly for communities most affected by
environmental and economic challenges," they wrote.
Community members are encouraged to review the draft CAAP and share comments or questions. The plan is available online at www.lake-elsinore.org where residents can learn more and review the full document.

Public comments will be accepted from Monday, January 12, through Friday, January 23, 2026.
