Man and Dog Found Dead Following Riverside County House Fire

A man and a dog were found dead at the scene of a residential fire Thursday night in Corona, according to a city fire department official.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA -- A man and a dog were found dead Thursday night at the scene of a residential fire in Corona, according to a city fire department official.

The fire was reported about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Via Josefa.

Crews were told there may be a person trapped inside the home so ``they made an aggressive interior attack'' upon arrival, Corona Fire Department Battalion Chief Brandon Wilson said.

A man removed from the residence was pronounced dead at the scene, Wilson said. A dog also died as a result of the fire, he said. The majority of the damage was in the home's living room.

The name of the name has yet to be released by authorities, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
