New 'Organ Donor' Status Touted On Facebook

Facebook has a new feature that allows its users to declare they are organ donors. The new option was announced Tuesday by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to boost the number of potential organ donors.
Donate Life America is the group working with Facebook.

Currently, the feature is available only to Facebook users in the United States and the United Kingdom.
To add organ donor status to your Facebook page, navigate to your Facebook profile and click the "Life Event" button in the update status box. From there, select "Health and Wellness" from the drop-down menu and click "Organ Donor." (See attached screen shot.)

Once you fill out the form—and change the privacy setting of that update, if necessary—click save.
If you're not a registered organ donor but would like to become one, click the link in the form to sign up.
