JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A 16-year-old boy was arrested Saturday on suspicion of murdering a 17-year-old boy in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.

Deputies from the sheriff's Jurupa Valley station responded to the 5900 block of Scheelite Street around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday after a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide investigators identified a 16-year-old boy as the suspect, and he was arrested in Jurupa Valley on Saturday and booked into Riverside Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder.

Neither the victim nor the suspect has been identified.
