Where To Dispose Of Hazardous Waste In Lake Elsinore For Free

This Saturday, the city is providing residents with an opportunity to dispose or recycle dangerous household waste.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Do you have old or unused paint thinners, televisions, antifreeze, cleaners, expired medications, or pesticides that you need to purge from your home?

Thanks to Riverside County Waste Resources, you can dispose of them for free on Dec. 6 in Lake Elsinore.

On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can take advantage of a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event at the Public Works Yard at 512 N Langstaff St.

Here are some of the items that will be accepted:

  • Automotive chemicals
  • Household pesticides
  • Batteries (auto, household & rechargeable nicads)
  • Paint
  • Electronics (including TVs, computers & monitors, VCRs, etc.)
  • Used motor oil
  • Fluorescent tubes & bulbs
  • Pool chemicals
  • Household chemicals
  • Sharps (hypodermic needles)
  • Household cleaners

  • Asbestos
  • Appliances
  • Containers larger than 5 gallons or weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Controlled Substances
  • Cylinders greater than 40 pounds
  • Explosives or Ammunition
  • Government, Business, Real Estate, Non-Profit, or Out-of-County Hazardous Waste
  • Infectious Waste (except Sharps)
  • Radioactive Material (except smoke detectors)
  • Remediation Material
  • Tires
  • Trash
