PERRIS, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Debbie Schwartz of Riverside, who nominated her daughter, Tamara Travers of Perris:

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Aside from having now to home school her 3 children, she also teaches her 5th grade class at Valley Christian School in Moreno Valley.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She is working harder now than she ever did. Also, when one of her students is celebrating a birthday during this time, she makes a visit to their home.
