"Born on the fourth of July 1920 in Boone Iowa, Jack Paul Clabaugh was an American success story."
3. Smoke Testing of Sewer Pipes is still taking place around La Mesa. "The testing began June 17 in the area between El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue from La Mesa Boulevard west to city limits. The testing will progress south and finish in the area between University Avenue and State Route 94 from Spring Street west to city limits." About two weeks of testing is left.
4. Secret Stairs- The city council reminded the public yesterday that La Mesa has plenty of running and walking areas in town, and for a real workout check out the steep stair set in the Mt. Nebo / Windsor Hills area. The oldest section is about a century old, read more here.
5. Check out the Artwork by El Cajon artist Betsy Brown on exhibit at the Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library (9001 Wakarusa St.)
"The exhibit, featuring Brown’s creative talents in water media and collage, includes paintings of animals and floral arrangements and Hawaiian ladies in dresses in collage. The show runs through the end of September."
