7th Robbery in 6 days: Man With Knife Takes Cash from Pedestrian on Spring
La Mesa police search for thin man who took money from victim a little before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A pedestrian on Spring Street was robbed of cash at knifepoint a little before 6 p.m. Wednesday in the seventh reported La Mesa robbery in six days.
Police Sgt. Raymond Sweeney said the latest victim, a man walking in the 4200 block of southern Spring Street, was approached by the assailant, who brandished a large knife and demanded money.
“The victim handed over his cash and the suspect ran away,” Sweeney said.
The attacker was described as a thin black man, 20 to 30 years of age, about 5 foot 8, weighing about 140 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandana covering his face, dark colored pants and black gloves.
On Friday, a carjacker took a man’s Toyota pickup truck at knifepoint, followed by a Carl’s Jr. heist Sunday, three robberies Monday and a laptop robbery Tuesday at Best Buy.
