7-Eleven on Palm Is Robbed of $30

A man with a white mask or face paint robs the convenience store early Saturday morning.

A was robbed early Saturday morning by a man who claimed to be armed, according to La Mesa police. The suspect fled after the clerk gave him $30 from the cash register, according to police.

This was the at the convenience store on the corner of Palm Avenue and Echo Drive. Two robbers, one armed, fled on foot after demanding cash from an employee in October 2010.

Saturday’s robbery was reported to police at 3:38 a.m. According to police, a man entered the store and approached an employee with his hand inside his pocket as if he had a gun. The suspect—who concealed his face with a white mask or paint—announced that he was robbing the store and demanded cash, the employee told police.

After the suspect was given $30 from the register, he fled on foot eastbound on Echo Drive. There were no reports of injuries during the robbery.

Police described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, wearing a white and black hooded sweatshirt and black/gray jeans.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
