What Was the Board Smoking? Let’s Redo School Attendance Boundaries
Charles E. Brown: "I was told that the reason for all of this was the so-called [Grossmont] Valley and Hills League sports realignment to enhance football competition."

To the editor:
I agree with Mr. Kerrebrock (see letter). Hardly anyone knew about the meetings; therefore the decision was met with little resistance. How can they justify taking kids from Santana (1,400) and sending them to West Hills (2,300) and then sending El Cajon kids to Santana?
What were those people smoking? Let’s do it again and let the public know about it before making a decision.
I was told that the reason for all of this was the so-called [Grossmont] Valley and Hills League sports realignment to enhance football competition. Now schools such as Santana have all weak competition such as Monte Vista, El Cajon, Mount Miguel while West Hills plays Steele Canyon, Grossmont, Granite Hills, etc.
What kid wants to go to a school where they do not have the opportunity to excel in their chosen sport? You achieve nothing, learn nothing playing against subpar programs.
