Cash, Wallet Stolen During AutoZone Robbery

Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed the AutoZone on Sweetwater Road Saturday, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The suspects took a wallet from a customer and money from the register and safe before fleeing on foot, said Sgt. Chris Steffen.

The suspects entered the store at 699 Sweetwater Rd. just after 8 p.m. and were described by Steffen as two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts, one white and one black. The suspect in the black sweatshirt was armed, possibly with a black semi-automatic handgun, according to Steffen.

Nobody was reported injured during the robbery, but the suspects made off with approximately $2,500. They fled through the front door, according to Steffen, and no arrests have been made.
