Crime Report: Arson Suspect Arrested, Bail Set at $160,000

The following information was provided by the San Diego Sheriff's Department. The suspects have not been convicted of a crime.

Monday, Dec. 26

Coins worth $1.50 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 10200 block of Moorpark Street.

A vehicle burglary was reported in the 2900 block of Alanwood Court. Items valued at $170 were reported stolen.

A license plate was reported stolen in the 2700 block of Bluffdale Place.

An assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 8800 block of Saint George Street. A 49-year-old man suffered a minor injury.

Tuesday, Dec. 27

A pistol valued at $300 was reported stolen from a building in the 9100 block of Jamacha Road.

A van valued at $5,000 was reported stolen in the 2000 block of Crofton Street.

A petty theft was reported in the 9200 block of Kenwood Drive. The loss was valued at $200.

Derek Land, 42, was arrested for suspicion of felony arson of an inhabited structure and resisting. A minor injury was reported. Damage was estimated at $100. Bail was set at $160,000.

Wednesday, Dec. 28

Joann Green, 47, was arrested for a felony parole violation in the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old man for suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. The suspect was allegedly armed with an automatic handgun.   

A television valued at $600 and $1,200 in cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 8600 block of Tyler Street.

Thursday, Dec. 29

Computer equipment valued at $300 was reported stolen from Monte Vista High School. Vandalism damage was also reported, estimated at $500.
