Crime Trends, Oktoberfest and Term Limits at Meeting Tuesday

The La Mesa City Council meet Tuesday at 4 p.m. to discuss crime trends, the city's financial state, acquiring the old police station property and more.

In presentations to start the meeting, city staff will present a report on the city's budget, Police Chief Ed Aceves will submit his quarterly crime report and Treasurer Eldon Vogt will give an update on city finances.

The Youth Advisory Commission will also give a presentation about their goals and activities.

City council will also receive an update on activity at this year's Oktoberfest.

This is agenda item 4.

Among items on the consent calendar, city council and the city's redevelopment successor agency will vote whether to rescind the termination of a purchase and sale agreement for 8181 Allison Ave., a 1.23-acre site at the corner of of the old police department at the corner of Date and Allison avenues.

These are agenda items 2a and 2b.

City council will consider a series of policy changes recommended by Councilman Ernest Ewin.

Ewin would like to see city councilmembers list all outside entities they are involved with and discussion about travel and conference requests.

These are agenda items 5 and 6. 

City council will continue to discuss and term limits first proposed by Councilwoman and Vice Mayor Kristine Alessio last month.
