At least seven La Mesans took part last month in the 9th Annual Mormon Battalion Commemoration at Old Town Historic Park in San Diego.
“Adults and children were in attendance as Old Town commemorated the 165th anniversary of the Mormon Battalion's arrival and historic contributions to San Diego,” said Linnae Pierce, a spokeswoman for the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and one of the La Mesans.
