East County's 'Greek Chicken' Marks 35 Years With May Giveaways
The family-owned restaurant has ranked since 1987 as a local go-to for gyros, kabobs, chicken dinners & fresh, flaky baklava.

EL CAJON, CA — Greek Chicken, a longtime restaurant in East County serving up traditional Greek fare and its famous, "fresh, never ever frozen" chicken kabobs and dinners, is marking its 35th anniversary with giveaways during May.
The family-owned establishment, was first opened by Foti Economou in 1987 on East Main Street in El Cajon. After partnering with his son, Gregory, Greek Chicken added another El Cajon location, one in Lakeside and one in Las Vegas.
The eatery was recognized as the “Best Greek Restaurant,” in 2015 and 2016 by The San Diego Union Tribune and in 2019 by East County Californian, management said.

Now celebrating 35 years in business, Greek Chicken is hosting a $35 gift card giveaway on its Instagram page (@greekchicken_) and will reward the top 25 earners on the Greek Chicken app with 35 extra points at the end of the month. (See rewards link here.)
“We are appreciative for our loyal customers who have supported us throughout the past 35 years and want to say thank you to them,” co-owner Gregory Economou said. “It’s been our pleasure to watch guests literally grow up with us and the restaurant over the years, and we look forward to continuing to serve the best quality food we are known for.”

Greek Chicken offers such traditional, menu favorites as gyros, kabobs, fried zucchini, chicken dinners, beer-battered fish & chips, Greek salads, burgers and baklava.
San Diego-area locations are at 1468 Graves Ave. and 955 E. Main St., both in El Cajon, at 9536 Winter Gardens Blvd., Lakeside, plus another eatery is in Las Vegas.
