Handmade Jewelry Provides Colorful Addition to Farmers Market
Creations By Erika features necklaces, bracelets, rings and more for affordable prices.
With arguably one of the most colorful and shiny display booths at the Spring Valley Farmers Market, Creations By Erika is tough to miss. Those who have taken time to stop by and see the bevy of handmade jewelry are glad they did.
Started by owner Erika Ellsworth a year and a half ago, the one-stop shop for jewelry features pieces made with Czech crystals, assorted decorative beads, and more.
Ellsworth said that her hobby has now become her profession.

"I used to be in the home loan industry," she said. "This is what I used to do in front of the TV to keep me busy during commercials. It was a lot more stressful before."
Creations By Erika also does in-home jewelry parties, where parents are welcome to bring their children.

"The rings usually attract the kids, but we have stuff for all ages," Ellsworth said.
She makes all of the necklaces, earrings, wire settings and bracelets by hand, buying random beads in bulk from India, and surfing several accessories websites to find unique pieces.
The rings sell for $3, but she wants to try and keep all of the prices affordable. She said the most expensive piece in her collection sells for only $60.
She also sells in farmers markets in Swiss Park, Santee and Chula Vista, in addition to Spring Valley.
