La Mesa Police To Give Away Auto Anti-Theft Devices

In an effort to combat auto theft, La Mesa Police will give away free "THE CLUB" steering wheel locks on Saturday, June 8, plus one LoJack.

LA MESA, CA -- In an effort to combat auto theft, the La Mesa Police Department will give away free “THE CLUB” steering wheel locks on Saturday, June 8th from 1 pm to 3 pm in the La Mesa Police Department parking lot.

The giveaway is in conjunction with the Regional Auto Theft Task Force and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

CLUBS will be given away on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. Proof of La Mesa residency is required.

All attendees will also be entered in a drawing to win a LoJack vehicle recovery system. The "club" devices were popularized in the 1990s and are still used to deter thieves almost 30 years later.

The LoJack system does not include installation or monitoring service subscription. Auto theft detectives will also be on hand to answer any questions and provide useful auto theft prevention information.
