Monday Essentials: Salsa, Push Pins, Car Show and Relay for Life
Take a peek at the week ahead and see what events are happening in La Mesa.

Here are the top five events happening in La Mesa this week. Click the links for more information:
1. Spring Valley Relay for Life- Saturday 10 a.m. to Sunday 10 a.m. at Monte Vista High School (JV Baseball Field).
Come to the event that fights against cancer and honors those who have. Walk some laps, play some games, enjoy free entertainment/music, honor a loved one (all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society). Don't miss the life-changing survivor's ceremony at 6:30pm and the Luminaria ceremony at 9pm.
There's still time to form a team with your family, friends, or fellow students and help us reach our event goal to raise $16,000 to fight cancer through education, services, and research! Register your team online before the event atwww.relayforlife.org/springvalleyca and help spread the word!
2. Back to the 50s Car Show at the Village- 5 p.m. Thursday, La Mesa Village.
Travel back in time in the Village. The car show is back! Back to the 50's Car Show will feature vintage cars along La Mesa Blvd between Acacia and Fourth Streets.
3. Manny Cepeda Salsa Plays Sunset Summer Concert Series- 6 p.m. Friday at Grossmont Center.
This will be a great show! If you're a fan of Latin or Afro-Cuban music, Manny is one of the best in the business. Every Friday evening from July 5 to August 30 catch live music at the Macy's Courtyard from 6-8 p.m.
4. San Pasqual Saturday Night Live Music: Push Pins- 7 p.m. Saturday at the San Pasqual Winery Tasting Room, 8364 La Mesa Blvd.
The PushPins play a variety of music from yesterday and today and are know for their harmonies.
5. Pole Walk at Lake Murray With San Diego Nordic Walking- 9 a.m. Saturday at Lake Murray Concession Stand.
San Diego Nordic Walking invites the community to a weekly Pole Walking event. Coaching and equipment will be offered, as well as demonstrations of this exercise trend that gets individuals moving through full-body engagement to burn calories, correct body posture and build muscle.
