3 Injured In San Diego County Plane Crash
The plane crashed in El Cajon after leaving a nearby airport.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA -- A plane crashed Sunday morning in El Cajon after taking off at Gillespie Field. The crash was reported around 10 a.m. at a parking lot near the airport on Gillespie Way and Weld Boulevard, El Cajon police said.
The plane struck a light pole and ended up against a fence between two buildings leaking fuel caught fire, and the wreckage became engulfed in flames, according to Heartland Fire and Rescue.
Three people aboard the plane were transported to a nearby hospital, NBC San Diego reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
