Poll: Will the Padres Make the Playoffs with Their Projected Payroll?

With a budget of more than $56 million, the local MLB team is loosening the purse strings a bit.

The San Diego Padres will have an opening day payroll of about $56 million, according to a U-T San Diego report. That’s a $10 million bump over a year ago but is still far short of the $73.67 million payroll of 2008, before John Moores moved to sell the ballclub.  How will this play out?  A division title or an also-ran season?
