Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser Planned In La Mesa
The La Mesa Police Department is hosting a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser Thursday at Claim Jumper. Tips will benefit the Special Olympics.
LA MESA, CA — Tip a cop and help support the athletes of the Special Olympics.
The La Mesa Police Department has partnered with the Special Olympics of Southern California for a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser Thursday at Claim Jumper in La Mesa.
"We are extremely proud to support the amazing athletes from Special Olympics," La Mesa Police Chief Ray Sweeney said in a statement. "This annual event allows our officers to work in partnership with our community to support these athletes."

During the event, officers from the La Mesa Police Department will take "protecting and serving" to another level, serving as hosts and waiters. All tips will be donated to the Special Olympics.
Customers can place their orders directly with the officers while showing support for the
athletes of the Special Olympics of Southern California.

The fundraiser will take place from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Claim Jumper at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa.
