Ukulele Replacing Bagpipes at Helix? Nope, but Don’t Count Out Teacher
John Lindhorst taking his strumming students on the road—and on TV—to perform his own song.
Helix Charter High School is known for its bagpipers. But John Lindhorst, a choral teacher for 11 years, is helping shape another specialty—infecting his students with love of the jumping flea. The group has performed several times over the holiday season. Patch profiled him a year ago. The attached video was shot during a warmup Dec. 10, 2011, for a show at the Double Tree by Hilton in San Diego.
