What to know in La Mesa, Spring Valley and Mt. Helix Thursday.
1. Back to the 50s Car Show at the Village- 5 p.m. Thursday, La Mesa Village.
Travel back in time in the Village. Back to the 50's Car Show will feature vintage cars along La Mesa Blvd between Acacia and Fourth Streets. A DJ will be spinning classics to go along with the vintage evening.
2. Gardening 101 How to grow your own food 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Spring Valley & East Communities Center, 3845 Spring Dr.

Part of 8 session series, "this course is geared towards beginning gardeners, so, even if your hands have never touched soil or plants, you are welcome. If you already know something about growing your own food, you are sure to deepen your knowledge and walk away with more ideas to implement."
3. Last Days for La Mesa Municipal Pool Public Swim this summer- Pool located at 5100 Memorial Drive.
The La Mesa Municipal Pool is open for summer public swim weekdays 1:30-3 p.m. from June 17 - August 9, but Saturday public swim from 1:30-4 p.m. extends until Aug. 31. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and kids.
