Volunteers Needed For Litter Free La Mesa Event

A litter cleanup will take place along Alvarado Avenue.

LA MESA, CA — Help keep La Mesa clean by participating in a litter cleanup.

"Litter Free La Mesa: Alvarado Avenue Stormwater Channel and Neighborhood Cleanup" will take place Dec. 9 along Alvarado Avenue. Hosted by the city of La Mesa and I Love A Clean San Diego, the event is part of the new Litter Free La Mesa series.

During the cleanup, volunteers will help divert litter from the watersheds and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

The cleanup will take place from 9-11 a.m. Dec. 9. Register here for the event.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes and sun protection, as well as bring a water bottle.

A signed release-of-liability waiver is required for all volunteers. Anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian.
