120 Scofflaw Drivers + 1 'Assault With A Deadly Weapon' Suspect In Police Traffic Sweep
Police find assault suspect and cite 120+ cell phone, stop sign, speeding scofflaws in Lafayette school zones, neighborhoods, and downtown.
LAMORINDA, CA — Police cited more than 120 drivers in one day for violating cell phone, stop sign, and speeding laws in Lafayette school zones, neighborhoods, and downtown.
Officers also arrested a driver on a warrant for suspected assault with a deadly weapon.
Lafayette Police said they received the most complaints from those three areas.
Officers from the Lafayette and Danville police departments conducted the "saturation patrol" on Wednesday, according to a social media post.

Police said the patrols are meant to "reduce the number of drivers speeding through our neighborhoods, reduce the number of drivers using their mobile devices while driving, and maintain safety at intersections and crosswalks, especially in school zones."
