Bicyclist May Have Run Red Light In Lafayette Collision With Car: Cops
The bicyclist was treated at the scene, then taken to a hospital, police said.
LAFAYETTE, CA — An investigation was continuing Friday into a collision between a bicyclist and a motorist Thursday in Lafayette.
Officers with the Lafayette Police Department were dispatched at 1:48 p.m. Thursday to calls that a bicyclist was on the ground at the intersection of Moraga Road and Mt. Diablo Boulevard.
When officers arrived at the scene they saw the bicyclist being treated by a doctor who stopped to render medical aid. An ambulance responded and took the bicyclist to a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision has been cooperative and was interviewed by officers, according to a spokesperson for the city of Lafayette.
Based on an initial investigation, officers believe the bicyclist went through a red light and entered the intersection against oncoming traffic when he was struck, the spokesperson said.

Information about the bicyclist's medical condition Friday was not provided.
