Start the New Year by giving back! Donate new/used/worn out sneakers to support Hugs for Harry, a newly formed senior dog rescue in Orinda. Sneakers will be recycled or reused to raise funds and kept out of landfills. Drop-offs are welcome anytime on or before Saturday, January 10, 2026, with an in-person collection event from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visitors can also meet dogs available to foster or adopt—and possibly go home with a new best friend.

St. Paul's Concert Series is delighted to present Same Page Duo, featuring Sharon Lee Kim and Margaret Halbig in our featured four-hand piano performance on Sunday, January 11 at 3pm. In this exciting program, they will present 4-hand piano pieces by Schubert, Bizet, Fauré, and Cornick. A survivor of a life-threatening cancer that left him with a permanent facial difference, Terry Healey is an author, keynote speaker, and business strategist. A graduate of UC Berkeley with a thirty-five-year career as a marketing executive, Terry challenges audiences to face adversity and change, and apply his framework and principles to gain confidence, build resilience, and find joy in their personal and professional lives. 
Terry Healey is the featured author at January Sweet Thursday Author Series in the DTCH at the Lafayette Library at 7:00 on Thursday, January 15. He will discuss his book, The Resilience Mindset, giving attendees tools to build their own survival kits to on the smallest or biggest obstacles, leading to a more fulfilling life. The program is free, but registration is required at tinyurl.com/sweet-Jan2026. The doors will open at 6:30 for coffee and sweets. This program is offered by Friends of the Lafayette Library.
